Program Overview

The Italian Design & Innovation program immerses students in Italy’s world-renowned design culture, focusing on creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Participants learn to approach design thinking from concept to prototype, integrating modern techniques and responsible AI-assisted ideation. The program combines workshops, applied projects, and site visits to foster a hands-on understanding of Italy’s design excellence.

Program Modules

1. Italian Design DNA & Case Studies

  • Study the history and influence of Italian design
  • Analyze successful design projects and their global impact

2. Design Thinking & Problem Framing

  • Learn structured problem-solving approaches used in design innovation
  • Develop skills to identify, define, and address design challenges

3. Concept Development & AI-Assisted Ideation

  • Apply AI tools responsibly to assist in creative thinking
  • Translate ideas into feasible design concepts

4. Prototyping Basics

  • Understand materials, form, and functionality in prototype development
  • Build concept-level models to test and iterate solutions

5. Final Project: Design Proposal & Pitch

  • Create a complete design proposal incorporating research, ideation, and prototyping
  • Present your project to peers and instructors for feedback

Residential Program
